To top it all off, her editor at the paper insists she cover the recent spate of Bigfoot sightings. Which is ridiculous! Since everyone knows Bigfoot isn't real, right? But Beverley seems to be the only person who doesn't believe.
How can she gain acceptance from the locals while keeping her journalistic integrity and solve the Bigfoot mystery once and for all? How does she even start looking for her chicken, who has once again run away from home? And does a Bigfoot stakeout count as a first date?

Good fun with a lot of sass, a smattering of chickens, some Hostess cupcakes and of course, Bigfoot?
Andrea Neil has gifted readers with a delightful treat. Beverly Green is a funny, thoughtful, yet sassy, no-nonsense forty-something who, after years of a successful publishing career in NYC, decides to move to Guthrie, OK to be closer to her aging parents. And, as much as she hates to admit it to herself, she's looking for a change in scenery.
Beverly opens a bookstore in town, decides to raise some chickens in her backyard (I never knew that was called Animal Husbandry!), and slowly settles into becoming a "local." But, she's not. And if you've ever moved from the city to a small town (I have!), it can be a challenge to fit in, to say the least. The wacky townsfolk, combined with Beverly's cheeky, and often self-deprecating inner monologue, make for some truly laugh out loud moments.
Charming Rom Com...with chickens. And possibly a Sasquatch.
If you're looking for a good natured (but not too good natured), upbeat (but not too upbeat) and charming (ok, it's pretty charming) romance with a few twists on the classics, you've found your book. Beverley Green is not your typical romance novel heroine. She's over 40, mildly grumpy and just really not sure about this whole "small town" thing. She's not sold on the chicken thing either. Or the Sasquatch thing, for that matter. Don't worry though, she'll sort it out...eventually. Pick this up and spend a pleasant afternoon in Guthrie, OK, and don't forget to leave some cupcakes out for the Sasquatch!
